When I’m not stitching, I’m writing, and when I’m not writing, I’m thinking about what I want to write.

When I am able to create a piece that delivers a direct message I find it so satisfying, no matter the art form.

One day I decided to pull out my brushes and start using these eyeshadows on paper. Most of it was just therapeutic.

Creating art is my ultimate happy hour. Sharing art with others is like a fine dining experience, delicious and satisfying.

I fell in love with artmaking at a very young age. It was a safe space for self-expression and adventure in my young life!

With every painting,I hope to call the viewer back to nature by appealing to their inner child through my animated style and subject matter.

Self-care is so important and often hard to find time to do.

Motherhood was my wake-up call to pay attention to my dream and take it as seriously as I did when I was a child.

Making art gives me an avenue for expression, unlike anything else in this world. I do a lot of work purely for myself.

As I got older I knew it was important to me to have my own family and I could have never known how hard and rewarding it was going to be.

My art is my sanity. It gives me purpose outside of my life as a mother.

Every time we make something and send it out into the ether, we are exposing ourselves to judgment.

My daughter has taught me there is beauty in slowing down, that I am not less because I am not doing more.

For me, the importance lies in the process. Tediously freehand drawing on an organic surface proves to be incredibly cathartic.

I believe that we have all shared the same sort of memory as someone else but from a different perspective.

And just as I have taught my children to follow their talents and passions, I have learned from them to do the same for myself.

I felt I had to be true to myself and start my freelance business in order to be more creative.

In search of learning how to express all the beauty and anger and frustration and loneliness inside of me, I turned back to painting.

In my experience as a mother, there is no time for oneself, unless you make that time a priority.
